Theta Mu Lambda on the Move at the Midwest Regional Convention

The Brothers of the Theta Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. were well represented at the 84th Midwest Regional Convention April 6-10, 2016 in Des Moines, Iowa.  This is the first time the Midwest Regional Convention has been held in Iowa. According to Brother Dr. Willis Lonzer, Midwestern Regional Vice President, local chapters petitioned for Iowa to serve as site for this year’s convention. Brothers from all over the Midwest Region gathered to discuss the state of the Midwest Region, provide development sessions to the newest members and the Fraternity and to serve the Des Moines community.  Brothers were called to Community Service Project at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School which included dedicating a reading bench sculpted in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s likeness to the school.  The reading bench serves to inspire and promote reading literacy, fitting tribute, to Dr. King who was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. A record 22 Brothers from Theta Mu Lambda Chapter participated in this year’s Convention.
